Welcome to all. As you can see from the list, there is a large price range in one’s gemstone choices. Please remember to trust your instinct but be aware of your budget when acquiring that special stone. The raw gem may not be as pretty but the energies remain the same and they are usually a fraction of the cost of a finished piece. Perhaps I will go into the lengthy process of cutting, polishing and finishing a gemstone at a later date. Most do not realize the process and length of time it takes to get a fine gemstone finished into the beautiful jewelry which appeals to us.

March Gemstones

Aquamarine Beryl - By Rob Lavinsky, iRocks.com – CC-BY-SA-3.0, CC BY-SA 3.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=10450200AQUAMARINE--The traditional birthstone for March…this crystal will also substitute as one of the stones compatible with October. It is very peaceful, calming, and good for the throat. Works with swollen glands, to balance glands, excellent for the eyes and vision as well as working with bones and teeth.

Heliotrop - By Ra'ike (see also: de:Benutzer:Ra'ike) - Own work, CC BY 2.5, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=2372925BLOODSTONE--This form of Jasper is good for balancing, blood and liver problems, prosperity, and stopping bleeding. Generally good for whole body cleansing and also helps one deal with and remove old anger. Word of caution-this stone will amplify PMS problems with some females so if it seems to do that at those ‘times of the month’, it would be wise NOT to carry or wear it. There is also a legend/myth associated with Bloodstone. The red spots which look like drops of blood are suppose to be the blood of Christ which is why it is suppose to work with healing blood/circulation problems.

It is excellent for meditation and used to protect against psychic attacks by sending said attacks out into the Universe where they are transformed into a positive, loving energy. Ancients used the Amethyst to help support sobriety and is a good aide to help resist addictions. Also may be used to help repel fleas from cats by placing a few small crystals or one mid-sized crystal into the cat's water dish. (I have a friend who swears by this and is constantly getting more to have on hand...it's good to change the stones out now and again to give the immersed ones a chance to re-energize.)

Welcome and may the Love Light of the Universe illuminate you this month.

One would think that Rose Quartz would be a featured stone this month but, alas, it is not. on the romance side, we do still have the Garnet as one of the options for February so I guess that will have to do.

Please remember that this list is compiled from several other lists and does contain crossovers from month to month. As always, please let your own intuition help in choosing the proper stone/crystal for you or others at this stage in your life. Different stages may need different stones, so if one doesn’t feel right anymore, perhaps it is time to either cleanse it or put it away for a while and use another.

It is also said to be an emotional balancer, enhances the connection with personal power and will. It is grounding, centering, helps soften stubbornness, enhances clear perception and insight. It has a masculine energy and also comes in several colors, from the traditional brown/gold (the yellow is sometimes called Cat’s Eye but there is a stone which is strictly a Cat’s Eye and tends to be more grayish) to blue (called Hawk’s Eye) and red (which I have dubbed Dragon’s Eye.) Tiger’s Eye has a chatoyancy which is because of the fibrous textures within the stone and makes it ‘wink’ when shifted in the light. rubyRUBY--Ruby is the red variety of corundum, the second hardest natural mineral known to mankind. It helps refine the will as a love based force It is an excellent stone for re-birthing and for releasing blockages along the spiritual path. Rubies promote dreaming and stimulate transmission of information from ones spiritual guides. Legend has it that the Ruby would help detect poison or danger by changing colors, usually darkening, which is why it was on of the favorite stones of royalty and was often seen set into goblets as well as predominant jewelry for the elite. Rubies are also one of the few stones which exhibit the capacity of being a Record Keeper by having a raised or indented triangular configuration on one of its sides or faces, (usually only found in the raw, unpolished state). The Record Keeper configuration may also look like a square or a rectangle, though it is not as common. Record keepers are crystals within which wisdom is stored. When one properly attunes to this crystal, ancient knowledge and secrets of the universe may be psychically retrieved. One needs an open mind and a pure heart to access the information via attunement of the consciousness with the inner energies of the crystal. When a person is properly attuned to a Record Keeper, the knowledge of the Universe is available. Record Keeper crystals, either as a Ruby or a Quartz, may have been programmed by the beings that created the energies which have culminated life on this planet and may have been left by the Atlantians and the Lemurians.
