Late summer update Print E-mail
Written by John Thornton

Hi everyone!

I've been sitting on this newsletter and I finally realized why – I didn’t want to update the calendar. Please folks, If you have an event please add it to the calendar using our easy form, registration required for spam control. E-mailing events to me is the third worst way to get stuff on the community calendar. The second worse is to call me and tell me about it. The first worst is to mail me a flier. I'm never going to transcribe a print flier unless it's wrapped around a twenty. Please just use the online form and you can list as many events as you want!

Miss Bonnie is looking for LightWorkers to interview on her new Radio Show feature on UtopiaRadio.com. If you are interested in being interviewed on one of her weekly Friday Segments...please write to her at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Here is the link to her most recent broadcast on Utopia Radio. Click on the link and scroll down the page to FRIDAY, you will find her show there.... Utopia Radio: in Unity we Are

Harvest time is upon us. Gardens are loaded with abundunt food and the days are growing shorter. Even as we rush to get ready for fall and winter, take a few minutes to enjoy the fruits of your labors.

LilyDale
Let me tell you about my workshop in LilyDale. It was amazing! I had 46 students, 43 + 3 LilyDale observers, and a universally positive response (I asked to see my comment sheets). The class was fun, I only ran a little over, and people saw auras.

I get to see a lot of workshops, talk to teachers and students and I am always surprised at how many neglect the experiential. For me, the most important part is for students have an experience. I want my students to see auras – and they do.

I just put in my proposal for next summer. I submitted the Aura workshop I taught this year as well as my Chakra workshop and my new Spirit Guide workshop. I'll let you know what gets picked up.

If you want to sponsor on of these workshops in your area, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it !

(And Other True Stories of
After-Death Communication)
By Carole J. Obley
One night while watching White Noise, a movie about a man who receives spirit communication through his TV, Ginny heard a loud crash in her hallway. When she ran to investigate, she discovered that a painting of herself that had hung for years undisturbed above the staircase had inexplicably fallen and come out of its frame.

Finding Water Print E-mail

A few months ago I met two wonderful people with a problem. I get lots of people with problems, but this one was new to me - they needed to find water. Their well was drying up and they were running out of options and asked me to help. Bruce's testimonial below makes it sound like I was cool and confident about helping them. I wasn't. I was a wreck, and I told them I had no idea if I could help them, but I said I would try. I never told either of them, but I was a wreck. Here were these two nice people willing to pay me to come out to their house to look for water even after I told them I didn't know if I could help them, but I'd charge them for a house call anyway.
A week later I got a message saying they had struck water. I told everyone I know.

Hi everyone, just a quick note to tell you what's going on this week and to talk up the next newsletter… which will be out AFTER LilyDale. And speaking of LilyDale, my class on Thursday is going to ROCK! As of 2:45 Monday afternoon 28 people were pre-registered – which is fantastic. When I first called two weeks ago I was told to expect 20-25, so we blasted past that with days to spare. Lets fill that room!

I also wanted to let you know that I will be doing Readings and Aura Drawings Friday the 25th at the Maplewood Hotel in LilyDale for one day only! (As a professional courtesy Teachers are allowed to read in LilyDale within 24 hours of their workshops) Everyone who attends my class, Auras – The Light Fantastic, will receive 15% off their reading.

You can register for Auras – The Light Fantastic by calling (716) 595-8721 or logging on to the LilyDale Assembly website. Last minute people, those who fear commitment and cash only types can show up at the Assembly Hall in the Maplewood Hotel at 6:45 and register at the door. This is a fun and energetic class and with a group this big I'll probably have to tether myself to the dais to avoid taking off like a rocket.

Also on Thursday, if you can't get to LilyDale go to Akron for Miss Bonnie's Lecture at the Akron Theosophical Society on "Communicating with your Angels." Both Miss Bonnie and the Theosophical Society are Featured American Metaphysics Members so it's great to see them coming together for Angels.

Ok, Next newsletter, we will have a recap of my trip to LilyDale; a review of Terry Pratchett's Johnny Maxwell Trilogy (Only You Can Save Mankind, Johnny and the Dead, and Johnny and the Bomb); "Portraits that Go Bump in the Night" by Carole J. Obley; and my new experiment in Finding Water.

Lastly, Joss Whedon's new production Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is fantastic and has been eating my brain for the last four days. You must see this! If you missed the limited webcast you can still download it off iTunes until July 29th, when it will go away. Neil Patrick Harris is so incredibly good you just have to see it. I was dreaming musicals and I'm this close || to turning my opening monologue into a musical number. Stay Tuned for Auras: The Musical!

REIKI HEALING AND HOW IT WORKS
BY MISS BONNIE

Many light workers in the 'Holistic Field' are familiar with REIKI. And yet many of those who could benefit greatly from it, are not aware of its presence and potential. REIKI is a sacred Healing Art that originated with Mikao Usui in the EAST.

It is a wonderful healing process by which the Healer has the honor of channeling the "Christ/Buddhic energy and the Healee receives this wonderful comfort on a Soul Level. The effects on the Soul level then transmit to the Physical Body and the Mind and that's where the magic truly happens! We all need a "Big Hug" from the Creator every now and then. REIKI hugs you through and through. It also gathers up any toxins in the body...which is why a certified Reiki Healer will advise you to drink LOTS OF WATER after the process. We as healers can only facilitate the 'gathering up of these toxins'...it then becomes your job to literally 'flush them out'.

To come for REIKI is a private decision made by you and only when you are ready. You can expect a wonderful, uplifting experience. No two people have ever reported the same thing... it's personal and you receive and experience 'what your Soul & Body need' at the time.

New Growth - AM June Newsletter Print E-mail
Written by John Thornton
Saturday, 14 June 2008 11:25

Since our last newsletter there have been lots of subtle updates and changes. Our core CMS has been updated along with a number of components and features to improve stability, security and performance. If you run into any new bugs or problems, please let me know so I can get everything working!

We've also added a new Premium Feature – Photo Galleries. These fun and easy to use galleries let you share your world with us. You can an example in my profile.

I've been busy updating the site and working on side projects, including my garden and johnmichaelthornton.com, but I have been writing a few short articles on Choosing a Psychic, gardening and cooking. Our other members have been rather quiet lately, but you can always get in on the conversation in the Forum!

Lots of the current chat in the forum is about gardening and I love it. All over the news these days you see these little stories, often buried under a mountain of campaign coverage, about how Americans are returning to gardening, often in hopes of reducing food costs, but also out of a desire to have safe and nutritious food available independent of the increasingly unstable global food market.

My family has always been full of gardeners. My maternal great Grandfather owned a feed store and Grandma always talks about how the worse the economy the better he did, some things never change.

Both sets of grandparents had organic gardens and I remember sitting on my Grandmother's porch on a raining summer afternoon in Texas, shelling butter beans and watching the wind and rain whip through the pecan trees and bend the flower stalks.

Here in Ohio, my Grandfather used to have the most amazing tomato harvests and Grandma would spend many a summer day putting up dozens of cans of tomatoes. When she moved into an apartment a few years ago, there were still aging jars of tomatoes stashed away in the basement.

My parents' garden was always big and sprawling, a stark contrast to Phyllis's garden next door with its tidy raised beds neat rows and clear paths. Three years ago we changed my folk's garden to raised beds and I can't help thinking about how proud Phyllis would be that we finally decided to follow her example.

Onions That's the thing about gardening, it's not just a way to get food, it reconnects us with our families and our history. When I stand in the sun and weed the lettuce I remember my Mother showing me what to pull and what to leave.

Picking tomatoes I see the baskets lined on Grandpas porch and remember the smell of summers past.

Planting herbs I remember Phyllis passing me sprigs of garlic chive through the fence. Thirty summers gone past, stretching back through hundreds of generations, summer is about family and the harvest.

This summer we welcome back to our family a number of Featured Directly Members: The Theosophical Society of Akron, Pat Beers, and Linda Knapp.

I had lunch with Pat this past week. She has been a tireless promoter of this site, even though she has never signed on (technophobe). She passes out fliers and tells people about the phone readings she has booked from as far away as Florida and Washington. Even though you'll never read this, thanks for the support Pat, and welcome back.

The Theosophical Society of Akron was one of Pat's recruits and there is a new contact person who knows how to work her computer, so I look forward to hearing more from them over the next year.

Linda Knapp and her husband have been working tirelessly to support the metaphysical and psychic community here in Ohio. Organizing psychic fairs, networking and spreading the word, we are happy to welcome them back.

Have a great summer!
